A deals site accidentally mentions new ‘iPhone X Edition’ and 7th-gen iPod touch hours before Apple’s iPhone 8 event
Today is a very big day for Apple as is expected to launch three new iPhones models but coming a long way from several leaks about the design and software, Apple has managed to keep their names under wraps.
Apple-focused site 9to5Mac has just announced that deals site Discover accidentally updated its deals site with the latest new devices, from Apple by listing an “iPhone X Edition,” as opposed to just rumored “iPhone X.”
Last year witnessed the introduction iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus by the Cupertino giant so normally you might expect the “iPhone 7s” and “iPhone 7s Plus” to be their natural successors. But this year is the tenth anniversary of the iPhone, which is why there’s a third, more expensive phone in the mix.
Going by this, we can suggest that the two baseline models will apparently skip the traditional “s” version and jump straight to “iPhone 8” and “iPhone 8 Plus,” with another one “iPhone X” which says a lot for the next highest-end model (where “X” would represent the Roman number 10).
But the name “iPhone Edition” — follows the gold version of the Series 1 Apple Watch, named “Apple Watch Edition” might sound better and the more complete “iPhone X Edition” might make as much sense with the tenth-anniversary edition of the iPhone. with the cool letter X.
