Today we take a look at the top apps Nigerians download and used the most in 2016.

  • WhatsApp

The Instant messaging app whatsApp, would continue to be Nigerians favorite when it comes to It’s text and call devices. This is the app used most by Nigeria in 2016.

  • Snapchat

Another social App, which became an instant hit this year dominated the list. Snapchat seems to be the social network preferred by Nigerians in the year 2016.

  • Opera

Opera and Opera Mini is still as the popular web browser for Nigerians, this makes it one of the most used app by Nigerians

  • Instagram

Another big weight is Instagram, similar to Snapchat is also made waves by gaining the competition, with introduction of Snapchat like features, Instagram is also one of the most popular social network used by many Nigerians.

This guys are really impressive, the transportation company uber lets you order for cab using it’s app, which can be accessed from your current location and they take you to your exact destination. Uber also made an instant hit in 2016. With many Nigerians using it services across the big cities.

The file sharing app that uses Wi-Fi-direct to share files, photo and videos is another app widely used by Nigerians especially in 2016.

  • Shazam

The song recognition app Shazam, was successful with their audio fingerprinting technology, won the Nigerians audience. Shazam stands as one app that became widely used by Nigerians in 2016

This App was a hot shot in early period of 2016, as the name goes Score! And Score! HERO allows you draw a path for your player using your finger aiming for the goal post to score. Currently people rarely play it now but the game can still be found in many Nigerians phone.
